"You must remain focused on your journey to greatness." Les Brown
“When walking, walk. When eating, eat.” Zen Proverb
I am constantly bombarded by exciting New ideas. They pop into my head seducing me away from the task at hand. How do I resist the temptation to veer off track?
I have an idea Binder where I can write down and safely store that beautiful idea until I'm ready to dedicate some time to it.
I also dedicate a specific time to brainstorm. As you can all relate, time is precious, especially quiet, alone time. Take advantage of these moments and jot down your ideas on paper. You don't have to work them out just free flow. They will be safe in your journal or binder until you have time look over the idea to see if it's worth looking into or maybe saving for a later date.
Brainstorming time doesn't have to be a long period. It can be fifteen minutes while you're waiting to meet someone or waiting at a doctors appointment, etc. . .
Here are a few questions to help keep you focused.
- What are the things that you want to achieve today?
- What are the things that you want to achieve this week?
- What are the things that you want to achieve this month?
now
- What can I let slide?
- Are the consequences important to me?
You can write a to do list or set a schedule but the most important thing you can do is to take action today, right now.
Wishing you a productive day.
