Have you checked out your animal in the Chinese Horoscope?  At first I thought I was a Rat but then I realized that it went by date so . . . According the Chinese Horoscope I am a Metal Pig . . .
Here's my interpretation of what they say is a Pig personality:

Pig people are friends for life.(true but only if i really like u) Their relationships are very deep, devoted, and rich beyond measure. (this is also true, i am passionate) The Pig people are noble and give and receive lots of hugs. (ick no, dont touch me) They are gallant and extend old-fashioned chivalries towards people they meet. (yes, i have great manners) Pig People are quiet, studious, and thorough. (yes, okay I'm pretty quiet i guess? & love to read & research)  On the other hand, they have a quick temper and sometimes have to pay for their rash impulsiveness. (again, I am very passionate & believe in revenge :) However, no one can overcome their inner strength; they have such tremendous fortitude and jump the goal post very time. (this is true, i am stubborn if i believe in something i won't back down) The Pig will have an abundance of good fortune and an abundance of years. The Pig will know a life filled with serenity and riches.(well hey, that's awesome. I am so down w/that)

What animal are you in the Chinese Horoscope?  Do you agree with the interpretation?

My opinion is that it's all in good fun just like any other Horoscope.

*******************UPDATE*******************
Here's the explanation of why I'm a Pig not a Rat.
Since the (traditional) Chinese zodiac follows the (lunisolar) Chinese calendar, the switch-over date is the Chinese New Year, not January 1 as in the Gregorian calendar. Therefore, a person who was born in January or early February may have the sign of the previous year. For example, if a person was born in January 1970, his or her element would still be Yin Earth, not Yang Metal. Similarly, although 1990 was called the year of the horse, anyone born from January 1 to January 26, 1990, was in fact born in the Year of the Snake (the sign of the previous year), because the 1990 Year of the Horse did not begin until January 27, 1990. For this reason, many online sign calculators (and Chinese restaurant place mats) may give a person the wrong sign if he/she was born in January or early February.
