"Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without." ~Confucius

I'm working on a second draft today and feeling frustrated that I can't write fast enough . . . that I can't find the perfect word . . . that I'm unable to mold the paragraphs into emotionally moving prose. It's just not perfect yet. I know i will be able to make the deadline but will it meet my standards?
I had to put it down and walk away.
How do you deal with frustration when your efforts aren't bringing you close enough to perfection?
"Certain flaws are necessary for the whole. It would seem strange if old friends lacked certain quirks." ~Goethe
"Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." ~William Shakespeare, King Lear, 1605
“Perfection is attained by slow degrees; it requires the hand of time.” Voltaire
“Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.” Salvador DalĂ
