How to Back Up your Blogger Blog

After last weeks Blogger fiasco am sure you're looking for solutions to protect & save your data.  Luckily it's very easy to do.

What happened?
This is what the Blogger Buzz Blog said:
During scheduled maintenance work Wednesday night, we experienced some data corruption that impacted Blogger’s behavior. Since then, bloggers and readers may have experienced a variety of anomalies including intermittent outages, disappearing posts, and arriving at unintended blogs or error pages.

The Latest Blogger Update:
Update (5/15 10:55PM PST): Blogger should be back to normal for the vast majority of people affected by this issue -- if posts are still missing, please check your drafts (you may need to republish).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How to SAVE your blog posts to your computer Manually
- Go to your Blogger Dashboard
- Click on the Settings tab
- It will open to the Basic tab
    at the top you will see three options
- To SAVE your blog click on the EXPORT blog link
- Click download and save it to your Hard Drive
Other solutions:
You can go to your RSS Feed to find your previously published posts.
These are the default feed addresses for Blogger.
Atom 1.0:
 http://blogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
 or
RSS 2.0:
http://blogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
Be sure to substitute in the correct blog address for blogname.
Here is what mine looks like:
All of these solutions are very straight forward and easy to do but must be done manually.  I hope you didn't suffer too much loss.  I lost two posts which I had saved as drafts but it's no big deal because I had a word copy.
Did the blogger outage affect you?
If you have any other solutions please let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear them.
Thank you so much for this post! I was so scared when it went down. I was at least glad I had already backed up my template. This is a great post!
Thanks for this post. I compose and save all my posts in Word anyway, and save all my photos on my computer, so that way if anything happens, I am safe.
Ha! Thanks for the reminder, Letty. I'd forgotten all about it. My only casualty was the post I'd written about "My Sister and Best Friend." Luckily my "best friend" subscribes via email and forwarded me the post. This is very helpful. Thank you!
