Memorial Weekend in South Florida

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.  Today on the last Monday of May we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

How to observe Memorial Day:

★     by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes.

★    by visiting memorials.

★     by flying the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.

★     by flying the 'POW/MIA Flag'

★    by participating in a "National Moment of Remembrance" at 3:00 p.m. to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day while Taps is played.

★     by renewing a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our fallen and to aid the disabled veterans.

"Are they dead that yet speak louder than we can speak, and a more universal language? Are they dead that yet act? Are they dead that yet move upon society and inspire the people with nobler motives and more heroic patriotism?" Henry Ward Beecher

Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend! Love this post. Our family honored the men and women who have sacrificed so much to defend our country by celebrating the freedoms they've allowed us to enjoy with family and friends. And praying for them, past, present, and future. ~Your newest follower from Blog Frog
