The Meaning of a Name

Onomatology:  the study of proper names.
Name:1. a word or a combination of words by which a person, place, or thing, a body or class, or any object of thought is designated, called, or known. 2. mere designation, as distinguished from fact: He was a king in name only. 3. an appellation, title, or epithet, applied descriptively, in honor, abuse, etc.

Wow, just as I am obsessed with words there are dudes obsessed with names.

The American Name Society was founded to promote onomastics, the study of names, naming practices,  and to investigate cultural insights, settlement history, and linguistic characteristics revealed in names.

Do you believe a name has influence over who you are in life?

My name Letty means Joy and Bella Vida means beautiful life.

From where I sit today I don't think that's a coincidence at all.  I feel like it was my destiny blossoming into fruition.

I wonder if I had a different name would I have . . .
