I spent a very busy weekend running around town in the rain. I did take photos but was so distracted I had my camera on the wrong setting and the photos came out blurry, dark and just plain terrible. oops!
Here's a Day of the Dead mask I was working on this Saturday. I plan on wearing it at the Day of the Dead parade.
Do you celebrate Dia de los Muertos?
It's a Mexican holiday whose tradition possibly dates back over 3,000 years ago to the Olmecs. It is celebrated on November the 2nd, All Souls Day. It is the day in which the living remember their departed relatives.
I really like the idea of celebrating and honoring our ancestors.
I made this mask thinking of my wonderful Abuela Tona. She had a special talent for growing large fragrant pink roses. Her birthday is coming up too. She wasn't born in the hospital so we don't know for sure but she always told us she was born on the day of the dead. I miss her and her sweet sense of humor.
Since my photos didn't turn out I'm sharing some of my Dia de los Muertos Pins.
These are some wonderful ideas and inspiration for make up.

Gorgeous images! We never observed Dia de Los Muertos in my house, growing up. I'm fascinated by it and love all the colorful art surrounding it. It's a vibrant and passionate holiday. I'd be lying if I said it didn't scare me just a tiny bit.
Yes, we Celebrate Dia de los Muertos... so much Fun, such a Spiritual experience of Honoring our Ancestors and Loved Ones who have passed from Time into Eternity. I wore my Sugar Skull Painted Face & placed my Ofrendas on the Altar for those I wanted to Remember and Honor.
A Lovely Tribute and Post.
