| This weeks pile of library books |
I was recently reading Nora Ephron's humorous book about growing older called I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman . It was a very entertaining read. I found myself laughing out loud many many times. And you know me, always searching for a lesson ... well I found a very nice one in her book. It was the sentence that stayed with me:
People have only one way to be.
Sometimes we say we'll give people the benefit of the doubt or make excuses for their horrible behavior but none of that can change the truth of who they are. Yes, people can change but most of the time it's our perception of them that has changed.
Do you agree with Nora? Do people have only one way to be?

"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages."

Letty, so true! Perception is reality and it's exposure that changes "us."
