A Leader Must Know How to Deal with Insecurity

Photobucket

Last week, I was listening in on a conference call regarding creating your brand and leadership.  It was striking just how many women couldn't get past prejudice or critical judgment from others.  It's not surprising considering society hyper sexualizes women, only to then later shame them creating these insecurities.  Caller after caller worried about dressing appropriately or looking too Latina or not Latina enough.  I began to grow annoyed because the real issue was not being tackled.

Everyone including myself has experienced some form of sexism and prejudice in the workplace and educational system.  The issue is getting beyond our own personal insecurities and exuding confidence.  No one will follow a leader with no confidence.

Every single post on this blog is about living your Bella Vida, your beautiful life.  I encourage you to browse this blog to find many mantras and inspirational quotes.  I'm sure there is something here for you, something to trigger your growth because success happens when you conscientiously decide to be your best, truest, most authentic self.

Here are a few posts to get you started:

This is a good article., because it is well organized and expressed with the very leadership qualities one can possess.

I'd add my favorite: IGNORE EVERYBODY ELSE. Once we learn to block all the "noise," life is, oh, so much more less stressful. The only standards we should be living up to are our own. It's taken me to this ripe-old-age to figure that one out. :p

Great post, Letty.
