Black & White Photography tell the history of the Women of Puerto Rico

I'm a naturally curious person who loves to read.  In particular I like to read about Puerto Rico and it's history since I never did so in my formal education.  It just makes me realize how many gaps there are in my knowledge base.  With all the madness going on in the country wanting to take away any Latino education and making it a crime for immigrants to get an education, I look at these wonderful old photos to see that we have a long way to go.

Progress - to move forward or onward in space or time

I look at these wonderful old photos. I see beautiful faces of hard working women. I look around in the real world and see beautiful faces of hard working women still not getting the support and education required in order for things to be equal. . . for things to be better.

Progress - to advance or develop toward a better, more complete, or more modern state

I look at these wonderful old photos and wonder who will tell my history?  Will my photos remain hidden in trunks or will they be placed in museums next to these hundred year old photos demonstrating our lack of advancement?  Two steps forward, one step back.

Advance -  to increase or rise in amount, value, or price

I am valuable. My life has value as did my mother's, your mother's , grandmother's and so on.

Their history is our history is the worlds history.

• Santurce, Puerto Rico. Women working at the Rodriguez needlework factory. Minimum wage is six dollars a week
