Fly High ~ Keep Rising

“Imagination is the highest kite one can fly." Lauren Bacall

2010 Airshow

Not only is it's graduation season but we are already almost half way through the year.  This post is meant to encourage us all.  I know sometimes I feel like I'm floating on an iceberg being driven by the current and need to find drive.

It's time to take a pause, reassess previous goals and maybe create some new ones.   Lately I've been taken out of my routine and had to break plans to help others.  I could whine about not achieving all my goals or I could be philosophical:

I was asked because: I'm trustworthy, responsible, creative . . .

and to go even deeper:
This is what I'm known for.  This is how the world sees me now.

These are wonderful qualities I'm happy to uphold with my actions. I do not want to change these things rather I would like to add to them.  So now I can be more aggressive toward attaining that and not wasting time on something else.

How is your year going?  Have you also had to make adjustments to your plans or goals?

“The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.” Friedrich Nietzsche

"That's not flying, that's just falling with style." Woody, from 1996 'Toy Story,' regarding Buzz Lightyear.

"There is an art to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."   Douglas Adams, 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.'

and I leave you with an excerpt from one of my favorite poems from the wonderful: Maya Angelou

I Rise

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

I highly recommend you read the entire poem.  You will find it very uplifting.

Letty,
Beautiful thoughts to contemplate. My year has been wonderful. We all hit those bumps in the road but sometimes they can be fun! Thanks for visiting my blog too.

I think it's during the bumps that we learn the most about ourselves.

Letty, this has been a year of discoveries for me. I'm learning to be less rigid and more forgiving of myself and expectations. Enjoy the journey and not worry about the destination. I like the quote about learning to "crash." : D
