Artists Who Painted War

The subject matter is what connects the following paintings.  Beyond that they differ in everything from style, medium, light, color, line, scale, movement, composition, periods, origin, etc.

I feel strongly that an artist has a duty to say something. These are a few of the most well known artists and I wanted to revisit and see what they were 'saying'.
